Background

Abelmoschus is a perennial flowering member of the Malvaceae family. This specimen is from Papua New Guinea, and it hasn't yet been solved. The name of the genus, "Abelmoschus," means "source of musk," which explains why several species of the genus, such Abelmoschus moschatus, are grown for their musk-scented seeds, which are used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The particular ephitet came from the Cendrawasih species of Birds of Paradise, which are native to Papua New Guinea. Favors nutrient-rich, well-drained soils. Can be planted with root control in bags, containers, or the ground. It takes 47–97 days from planting to the first harvest. Abelmoschus sp. "Cendrawasih" is an edible plant that produces fruits, leaves, flowers, and seeds. the consumption of fresh, perishable fruit or the preparation of green vegetables. Here is the partially shade treated Abelmoschus sp. "Cendrawasih" resulting brighter and tend to grow more slender with pale red petiole and mid rib. Can be treated as potted plant as houseplant or plant in the garden as ornamental plant for its beautiful unique slender leaf.
